From the desk of Joe Hardcore:
One Life Crew stands as one of the ultimate ironies within our scene. Despite our attempts to be all inclusive and allow for many of the real world barriers to be broken down, we’re still unable to think outside of the 'pack' and avoid a sheep like mentality. Many wrote One Life Crew off simply based on word of mouth- 3rd hand rumors, while most were unable to accept someone having a contradictive position on scene and social politics. Mass hysteria erupted and the open minded façade of the day crumbled as OLC was branded as the Antichrist and were taken off the Victory roster. One may say they had no business being on it in the first place, while you can also view it as a group of disgruntled haters were jealous such an infernal band could be on the biggest label of the time without ever playing a show. Despite the fanatical crusade to remove OLC from the annals of hardcore history, it is 2009 and just under a month before they will play 2 shows after years of hiatus. I can only hope that in 14 years that people will take the time to explore the band and its releases for what they were. Their hard edged approach to a softer time stood as a reality check to those who were content to dilute the potency of hardcore to preach their cult like ideas to disillusioned, bored and clueless. Marked as black sheep years ago, their legacy elevated them to a myth like position with message boards littered with gossip and hearsay to this day. One Life Crew will remain one of the most notorious bands in the history of hardcore strictly for taking a conservative stance at a time when we were at our most liberal and sometimes least open minded.'
